Welcome to the Historic South Bristol Mainland Quest
Where you will find the treasure boxes we've left As you unravel this mystery You will learn some of our town's history As you go along these trails, We hope this quest never fails Before you go, tie up your laces, Because you will be going to many new places At the kiosk turn and face the S Road sign And head that way up 1 2 9 (#1) You'll find a place up the road That was burned by gypsies long ago The place we're going isn't easy to miss An ice palace is the first on our list In the 1800s there was a farm That used to be a place with cattle and barns Did you know this wasn't the first ice house on the site? It was burnt by gypsies all through the night The ice house was the only one working around And supplied ice only for the people in town Walk to the small ice cutter shed And find the wide path that's up ahead Go to the paved road and take a right After a short walk, a small path comes into sight Over the hill and down to the shore Sit on the rocks, take in the view and more Ahead you see an old wooden dam It makes ice cutting and hockey a local media slam Take one last look at the green pond Walk back through the path that you came along Once you reach the S Rd. on your right hand side Turn that way to a white school house where history hides But don't go in, it's not allowed Unless you want to attract a crowd This is the school taught by Sarah Emery That finished its lessons in 1943 Turn right at the corner of 129 And find the white “Main Cemetery” sign Walk into this place with many bones And try to find the tallest gravestone William P.
